just stuff

Mum no longer cries so much about her father.  I never knew mine...

Old Man Cat has heale.  It is a miracle.

Fun and Games

I am having sooooo much fun with this beautiful weather.  On top of the roof next door.  It's a little scary climbing down, but I do it.  Mum has calmed down about it.

She's feeding the birds again.  But I've been very good and have left them alone.

She loves her tracker and I usually stay within the 500 feet.

Dad and Mum are not happy that I go across the alley (I think I've mentioned it before that the neighbor doesn't want us in the basil).  He even has Veitnamese basil.  She says it's dangerous when I run across the alley.  I am fast and can get away from the cars.

He has adopted 2 homeless girls from Ethiopa.  When Mum mentioned that country was called Abyssina, the nodded yes. Of course that it where my ancestors are from.

I watched the raccoons tonight.  These 3 are quite tame.  They don't hurt me.  But they eat lots of catfood.
Mum moved all foods but canned, etc. foods high up in closed cabinets.  They tried to eat her special ginseng and ginger candys.

I really love living here.  I still come in every once in awhile to see if she's still here.

She is all tied up working on her 50th class reunion.  My goodness she is as old as Methusilal (sp).

I slept all day.  Now I want to be outside and up all night.

Tracking Device

Mum received a package yesterday from England.  It was for me I guess.  Mum put this little tag on my collar,  She has a small tracker.  She can find me if she wants to.  The closer she getsto me with her thingy it starts beeping until she's right next to me.

Mum just entered my tree story in a contest on a cat site about nine lives.  She thinks we'll win.

Mum's Dad is near death.  He is still alive after 10 days of no food or fluids.  If he had not had a stroke he thinks he would have lived 100 years.  He must be a strong person.  Mum says Samantha lived that long in human years. She has accepted that he is dying.

There are serious ear problems.  Bits ear  mites are gone as are Blackie's.  Old Man's ears hurt and we think Little Cat has mites.  Mum says she's never had this problem in 60 years of cats.

Old man Black (we don't know how old he is, but he's missing teeth.  He was dropped here a year or so ago.  He was declawed.   Mum says that could have led to his death  by dogs.  We don't know how but he anded with an abbsess  the size of a baseball.  Phil had to even cut out gangreen tissue.  He said it had almost gone thru his lungs to the other side.  See photo.  It  was worse than shown.

crying again

Mum cried when one of her friends was diagnosed with cancer, leukemia.  I wonder how her family feels. Today, another friend, my Doc's wife, was told she had liver cancer  Mum says it is a an extremely deadly disease.  She says she had a friend that who died 10 days after she found out.  Her friend, Diana, also now has diabetes.  She tested 400, which Mum says is a dangerous high.  She says she feels useless because she can't help them.  Some other friends have serious health issues too.

Crime Scene

Poppy bit Mum.  She had on heavy socks but his teeth cut in the skin anyway,  A few minutes later she noticed squishy blood spots all over the floor and carpet where she walked. Looked just like a CSI crime scene.

Hammond

Hammond was very very ill on Wednesday.  Mum and Dad took him to Dr. Phil.  He was nearly dead and had a fever of 106.  Dr. Phil said that was extremely high.  He gave him shots of strong antibiotics, Prednisone, and Vitamin B-12, with sending him home amoxicillin.  The bill was only $34.00.  He said, "He better get well soon."  I thiink we all thought he'd be dead by Thursday morning.  Mum couldn't sleep and kept checking on him.  She decided to try to make him drink a little milk.  He drank a tablespoon.  Every hour she was able to get him to drink or nibble more until now when he is eating almost normally.  He will still get his meds. He doesn't look very well and appears to be depressed.  (Of course, we all are a little bit depressed.  The weather has been sunny and temps in high 40's.  So. we spend sometime outside.)  Today Mum found a lump or a mass in his lower abdomen.  He cries if she touches it.  I sppose it will have to be looked at.

Earmites!  I don't have them but Blackie, Bits, and Poppy do.  Little Cat did but Doc used this expensive treatment.  Mum is going to buy some for, at least, Blackie and Bits.  They have crinkled ears because of the vicious little bug. She walks around squirting sweet oil in ears.  Doc says sweet oil is good against mites....

Bored!

Winter is so boring.  Not much happening

Gary and Popeye had a most terrible fight in the garage.  Dad and Mum said it was the worst cat fight they'd ever seen.  Mum keeps gallon bottles of water out there.  To break up the fight she had yo throw water on them.  They still aren't friends.

Gary had a bad problem.  He was sitting on dryer, slipped and fell in the closed space by the dryer.  He can't jump.  He's too big and, also, it's not much in the nature of domestic shorthairs.  They could't reach him.  Dad had to lie down on the top of the washer and dryer and pull him up.  Dad's arms just barely made it.

See the Christmas tree.  We were all good.  Nobody broke any balls.  Nobody climbed the tree.  Nobody ate any tinssel.  Mum bought us new Cat Faery toys.  They are good to play with.  She usually makes aome catnip toys, but her hand was still wrapped.  We had ham and turkey.

Good Talk

Mum talked to my former owner, Colleen tonight.  She wanted her to know about my most awful experience.  Mum is now ready to discuss the terrible event.  Her doctor was ready to put her in the hospital if they couldn't get me down from the tree.  She still has problems talking about it.  I'm not sure she really understands and can reasonably accept it w/o falling apart.

We are having Christmas again.  Nobody pays any attention to the tree.  We are aults and won't play games.  Old man Black sleeps under the tree in the very back.  Everybody is on their best behaviour.

Will write more later.

Turkey Day

Today Mum roasted a large turkey.  I used to eat raw turkey, but this is diferrent. It smells really tastey.  Little Cat has been waiting all day.  I hear that Mum's first Aby was Samantha.  She was a ruddy Aby.  She lived 23 years and went crazy over turkey livers.  Why, she would run when she heard the knife being sharpened. She came from England from the very best line, GrChTaishun Leo.  She flew Pan Am by herself insured by a famous company, LLoyds of London.  They really bonded.  Samantha could jump better than me.  When she first met Dad she jumped to his shoulders.  She was mated with GrCh Chota-Li Jester and had kittens: then 2 more litters.  Evertone wanted her baby's but she kept some like Maya and Lasange (my sister named that cat).  Mum really fell apart when she died of pneumonia one Thanksgiving  Mum bought her a real tombstone.

I have a new neice, Baby Girl.  They havn't named heer yet.  She's 3 days old.

Tree Climb

On a Monday I decided to climb one of the pine trees at the old house across the stree,  See the pine tree and 2-story house.  I wasn'too high ny Wendsday when some girls heard me crying Tey knew I was lost because on Tuesday when I wasn't home Mum went to all the houses in our area.  I was only up high enough to be reached with a ladder.  I crawled way out on a limb when the fire department tried to get me.  I was soooo scared of them.  Next this man climbed the tree to where I was so I ran up the tree to its very top.  No one could reach me.  Peoplle kept telling Mum and Dad that I'd come down when I got hungry.  I was already hungry and needed water.  The next night it rained and I licked water off my coat.  I cried and tried and Mum would talk bac.  I still wouldn't come down.  Mum called the town to see if they woul bring the bucket ttruck.  They said "No".  She was going to hire one from the big city, but she leasred they only went up 60 feet, less than half the height where I was.  Mum was hysterical.  She coul hear me cry but couldn't reach me.  She and I both were so scared and upset.  By Saturday it rained again so I had a liilt taste of water. Dad was upset too but tried not to show it.  They were afraid they'd have to put Mum in a hospital.  ByMonday she called a lumberjack.  He came with his worker and ropes and climbed up as he could safely go.  I still couldn't be reached.  It was so tall, but since I weighed so little I could get really high.  He had a long fishing pole to touch me.  I ran down the tree until I was about 30 feet from the ground and I jumped.  It was a miracle that I landed on my feet and took off running.  I came home very thirsty and hungry in about 2 hours.  She was so happy.  She loved and loved on me.  Mum called the vet to come over to check me out.  I was OK.  I slept with Mum and Dad the next 2 nights.  I am really happy to be alive and well.  I'm sticking pretty close to the house, even on the warmer days.  It was Halloween....

September-October-November

Let's start with today.  Mum bought and had installed a new complicated cat door.  It's bigger, magntized and has controlls:  one lets everyone in and out; onef out only; one for in only; and one for locked.  The problem is it's new and different.  We don't like it and the flap is heavier but Mum says we have to use it....

In September Mum went to Texas to be with her father.  She had to make the staff do their job.  She can be that way.  I slept with Dad the first night.

The she had surgery on her left hand--carpal tunnel.  She said it was "a piece of cake".  I didn't see any cake.

Mum and Dad left us home when they went to my sister's (Tori) wedding to Dave.  They left Chase, Larry, and Boxer home.  Of course all of us had helpers who came in to feed us.  Her cats had a live-in helper. We were all home when they came back

That's all for now.  Tomorrow I will tell about the horrible nightmare.....

Me

I  have such style.....

All's Well!

Everyr\thing is fine.  Dad's surgery went fine, so did Mum's.  She said, "It was a piece of cake."  (I don't like cake except for some icings.

She thinks Dad is depressed.  He says nothing tastes good.  He's tired all the time, isn't doing his exersies or walking.  He says he's just old.  He does somethings but would rather sit in his chair, read, watch TV or work on the computer.  (He claims to be related to all the Kings and Queens of Europe.)  He will come up with any excuse to not do something.  I am so worried nabout him as is Mum.  Depression is prominent after heart attacks.

I have become quite the hunter. I find these things called salamamders and bring them in the house.  Some are dead. (YAH!) but if he can can he saves the others. I also catch cicadas (locusts).  Dad tries to save them too.

Mum & Dad

I'm very worried about.  Mum has been crying all and isn't eating. She won't do anything.  She's sooo  worried about Dad.  He has to have more surgery this week.  He is 81 today and beed so tierd.  He doees very little but sit.

Also Mum has to have hand surgery soon and who wukk take care of her and him?

Then her Marton of Honor is having a wedding shower the same day.  Nikki, a cousin, decided to have a double birthday party at Tori's Aunt Cindy, so of course,  few, if any of the relatives are going there.  We are so disappointed,.

The she fell in the garden twice, hitting her face and head on a brick. There was so much blood we didn't know what to do.  Her face is swollen, cut, and bruised.  She wouldn't go to church.....

She's also upset that she most like won't be able to visit her father in Texas.  He's 91 and has Parhinson's disease.

Birthdays

Today is my forever adoptive birthday.  I've lived here 1 year.  I turned 4 onJuly 7.  There was a small party.  Everyone got new catnup, fresh chicken, a new toy,, and cat treats.  Hammond was a bit rude, eating first.  Poppey hit Blackie in a fight over the catnip.

Next weekend is Dad'd 81st birthday.  He had a big party last year.  I was still locked in my room.  Mum and Dad will just go out for dinner.  He always want to eat in Knightstown.

He's recovering slowly from the horrible heart attack the end of May.  We knew something was happening.
Mum and Dad argued all night, with her saying you're having a heart attack an he keeping denying it.  Police and an ambulance took them the emergency room.  They did some tests then moved him to a heart hospital.  They were there 4 days. One of her friends and Tory fed us but it was so lonely.  He is okay, but so tired.  He's supposed to be walking a half hour a day, but that totally wipes him out.  Mum is still very worried.

Mum did fine until the day after they came home, then she went on a binge to clean the garage.  They can now put a car in it this winter.  Mum won't be  allowed to do it, since she has no depth perception.  Also, he's afraid she'll run over a cat.  After doing lots of pitching and throwing in the garage, she had a "melt-own", falling apart, angry, didn't eat, but her doctors helped with that.

There's more, but I want to go outside....

Billy Bob

Tragic news:  Billy Bob, my black bob tailed cat was killed on the road.  He was here fo supper,  Abot an hour later, a nice woman  called to say her father saw a black cat on the side of the road.  He even thought he might still be alive.  She drove the 20 some miles to see.  But he was dead and she saw his tag and called us.  Dad brought him ome.  We'll bury him in the cat cemetary in the morning.  Mum wants to plant a peony.

I spent the entire day outside.  It's finally back in the 70s.

Poor Bits cries constantly if noone is in the room....

Dog

A big brown dog visited the deck today.  He didn't have a collar, but did wear a chock chain.  He ate all the dry cat food, the bacon fat, and a dish of grilled shrimp, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes.  Must have been hungry.  He chased me, but ran from Poppy.  But Gary made it clear he(she) wasn't welcome here.  Gary watched him thru the deck door and then charged the door.  Poor dog ran away with his tail between his legs.
